I like Chinese New Year for the very fact that we can have much gambling game, gamble away even more happily if I have more available cash. I’m neither a gambling addict nor pro gambler but more purely for fun. Play is the word. Other than that I seriously detest this festive occasion. Perhaps not so when I was much younger 7 to secondary school two of age 14. After that I never enjoy much. Find it bore, troublesome & having to bear with all those extremely turn-off boring Chinese new year tunes .. keep hearing them in shopping mall & occasional relatives house.. …….. .
Now, at my age I hated the occasion even more! Coz, my siblings were either attached or married, & I’m the only single one, hence I always get all these borings, unexciting questions shooting to me. When am I going to get married, got bf already? those kind of stuffs. I stop tagging along with my parent for Chinese New Year visit since age 15. I’m always occupied with my own play programmes. If I happened to have a bf, I will tag along with him to 拜年. If I do not, will stay home glued to my TV.. …& plan outings with friends. Of coz I got those Qs… rifling at me when my aunties comes visiting … & it so happen I’m stuck home :( 烦! Another thing I don’t like CNY is most of the shops & places are closed!!! for business can’t do much exciting play thing simple finger food also can’t get!!! Too much 大鱼大肉 at home also bore .. of coz you can cook nice food for yourself but .. .means you gotta prepare the ingredients in advance before the season comes .. blah blah all too much planning & work! I’ll just go with the flow & enjoy the holiday….
